Nagpur :- Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is a national Standards body functioning under the ministry of Consumer Affairs Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
Bureau of Indian Standard Nagpur Branch Office had organized a Manak Manthan (Technical Meeting ) on IS 8008:2022 Injection Moulded/Machined Polyethylene Fittings for Water Supply which is a revised version on 28.04.2023 at Nagpur Branch Office.
The Programme was inaugurated by Piyush Wasekar, Joint Director-BIS, Nagpur Branch Office. He addressed the audience about the revised standard IS 8008:2022 Injection Moulded/Machined Polyethylene Fittings for Water Supply.10 participants attended the Session at NGBO . The participants included the Experts from Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, CIPET and manufacturers of HDPE Pipes.
The session started with a presentation on recently published standards, standards pertaining to textile department, and relevant wide circulation drafts which are under circulation, delivered by Sarvesh Trivedi Sc C, BIS Nagpur.
After that, a detailed discussion on the standard through presentation was carried out by Piyush M Wasekar, Sc D, BIS Nagpur. Several comments were received from the participants and the same are being compiled to be sent with the Manak Manthan report. Moreover, all the participants were informed about the registration and downloading of the BIS standards. All the manufacturers were also informed about the procedure to obtain the BIS licence and they were also encouraged to apply for BIS licence. Overall the programme was very fruitful and the participants requested to carry out more such programme in future which is being considered by BIS Nagpur Branch Office.
