Nagpur :- In a swift and successful operation on 10th November 2024, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur, in collaboration with the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) Nagpur team, dismantled an illegal railway e-ticketing operation. Based on reliable information obtained under “Operation Uplabdha,” the RPF and CIB initiated a detailed investigation at the suspect’s residence in Nagpur on 9th November 2024.
The operation was led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ashwin Pawar and Constable Govardhan Savai from RPF Nagpur, with support from ASI Mukesh Rathore and Constable Shyam Jhadokar of the CIB Nagpur. The suspect was found to be using a legitimate IRCTC agent ID on the ‘My Travel Bazaar’ platform along with multiple personal user IDs to book e-tickets illegally. The suspect confessed to charging an additional commission of ₹50-100 per ticket.
During the investigation, the team seized seven printed tickets, a laptop, and a mobile phone, with the total estimated value of the confiscated items at ₹30,254.75. These items have been documented as evidence. The investigation, led by ASI Ashwin Pawar, is ongoing to uncover further details regarding the extent of the illegal operation.
This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Railway Protection Force, Nagpur Division, to protecting railway services and enforcing lawful practices that uphold the integrity of the system.
