– “Harassment & Extortion of innocent traders, will be strictly dealt with” – Aatram
Nagpur :- A delegation of Chamber of Associations of Maharashtra Industry & Trade (CAMIT) led by its President, Dr Dipen Agrawal called upon Aatram Dharamraobaba Bhagwantrao, Minister of Food and Drug Administration, Government of Maharashtra and upraised him with hardships being faced by business community due to vacant post of Joint Commissioner, FDA-Nagpur, since last six months. The Minister instantaneously assured the delegation that latest by coming Monday, a Jt. Commissioner will be posted at Nagpur FDA.
It was also brought to his knowledge about the deteriorating condition of Nagpur FDA office to which he assured that necessary renovation work of office will immediately start and he will also review the ongoing construction work of new FDA building near High Court at Nagpur.
Dr Agrawal further informing the Minister said “in past it has been our experience that during the festive seasons, especially Diwali, the administration in the name of proactive vigilance gears up to harass innocent small and marginal traders and MSME units to extort money. Responding to the appeal for deprecating such harassment in the garb of vigilance, Minister Aatram D. Bhagwantrao reiterating that our government is committed to zero tolerance towards harassment to traders, said if any officer is found indulging in such malpractice or complaint is received then such officer should start counting their days. The concerned officer will be sent back home he added.
Highlighting the menace of narcotics / drugs hounding the youths and manufacturing of “MD” in the State Dr Dipen Agrawal appealed the Minister, that government and administration should find out of box solution and to act upon it make Maharashtra a drug free state. There is urgent need for in tandem action by the Police and FDA department to have safe, secured and healthy future generation in our State. Minister while acknowledging the concern raised informed that his department is already working with the police department and they are in for Zero Tolerance Policy for units illegally manufacturing prohibited/banned drugs and same will be dealt with iron fists.
At the outset the delegation felicitated Aatram D. Bhagwantrao, with flower bouquet and CAMIT scarf and extended greeting on his birthday. Accepting his felicitation, Minister assured to hold regular interactions with stake holders to address their issues and immediate resolution. Dilip bhai Thakral proposed a vote of thanks for minister’s valued time, patient hearing and prompt solutions. Prominently present in the delegation were Sarvshri Dilip bhai Thakral, Ashok Sanghvi, Girish Liladiya, Pankaj Padia, Laxman Mendhare and Dhiraj Maloo.
