Nagpur :- Participating in a reputed Inter-school Elocution competition is a matter of pride for both the contestants and the institution they represent. The team of four spirited orators representing Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar at the prestigious Rev. Stephen Hislop Bicentennial Inter-Collegiate English Elocution Competition 2024 hosted by Hislop College on 23rd January 2024 earned laurels for themselves and their school for their commendable performance.
Arwa Vali and Nupur Saboo, participating at the Junior College level as well as Taskin Chimthanawala and Abhiram Gulkari, competing at the High School level gave strong creative expression to their views on the topic ‘Heroes in everyday life – recognising acts of kindness’ and merited appreciation from the judges who faced a challenging time deciding the winners from as many as 48 participants from reputed city schools. Applauding all speakers for their insightful content and fluent eloquence, the three esteemed judges for the day namely Parvati Joseph, Rev. Fr. Vivian Lobo and Ashutosh Gadgil were all praise for the varied perspectives taken by all orators on the topic and their confident stage presence.
An elated Arwa was all smiles as she won the ‘Best Speaker’ trophy while she and Nupur jubilantly lifted the ‘Runners-up Rolling Trophy’ in the Junior College category. All participants were awarded trophies and certificates of merit for their efforts.
The foursome, along with their mentors Ruchi Tyagi and Manju Hirani who ably trained them, were proudly applauded and congratulated by the school Principal, Kanchan Ukey and the entire staff for their fantastic achievement.
