&TV’s Baal Shiv, positioned as Mahadev Ki Undekhi Gatha, continues to climb the popularity charts with engaging and captivating content and characters. The upcoming plot that has been around the story of Sati, essayed by ShivyaPathania, will have a high point focused on the tale of Sati Dahan. As Sati marries Mahadev (Siddharth Arora) against her father’s will, Prajapati Daksh (TejSapru), he does not invite the couple to Yagna, despite Sati being his favourite daughter. Due to her parental bond, Sati ignores the social etiquette and her husband’s suggestion not to attend the Yagna and goes to the ceremony alone. She gets humiliated and insulted by her father for marrying Shiva. Unable to bear Mahadev and her insults, Sati walks into the sacrificial fire and immolates herself, which leads to Mahadev’s unstoppable anger, leading to destruction. 
Talking about her character Sati, ShivyaPathania shares, “Sati is a very strong person. She is synonymous with devotion and is a lady of virtue. She is aware of what she wants in her life and always goes with it, irrespective of what others have to say. When I narrated the part, I was extremely excited and, at the same time, nervous about playing the character. But I am happy to people’s encouraging response to the track, and I feel my hard work has paid off.”
About her experience of shooting the heart-wrenching sequence of Sati Dahan, Shviya adds “Shooting the Sati Dahan scene has been emotionally exhausting as I could feel the pain of the character. The tears that I shed while doing the scene were real. The moment the director said “action” and I walked towards the yagna, I felt every bit of pain and misery in it. This time, I acted through my body and my heart and emotions. The story of Sati Dahan holds great importance in our Hindu mythology, but in my opinion, just reading or listening to the story does not give justice to its true essence. The character is quite strong and, of course, close to my heart. It brought out the best in me. The experience was so heartfelt that sometimes I still get goosebumps. I am grateful to the show makers for believing in me and my ability to carry off Sati, Mahakali and Devi Parvati’s characters so beautifully and at ease. It taught me a lot and helped me grow as an actor. One rarely gets to essay so many aspects of a single character in one show. I feel truly blessed to be given this opportunity. I keep getting a lot of compliments and appreciation from friends, family and fans that encourages and motivates me to do my best. The Sati track will always be very special to me.”
