Wani :-Its notable to see that WCL nowadays is topping the charts when it comes to scams, and scandals and corruption. In the past Team News Today 24×7 has already published news informing the readers about varieties of scams happening at WCL, which were shared with us by none other than the ones who either were the victims of those scams or were directly or indirectly affected persons. Just yesterday we came up with a breaking news story about one WCL Sub area manager being caught red handed by the CBI for accepting bribes. The dust of this incident has not even settled and we were given a fresh instance by Abid Hussain stating that there is a huge scam going at Wani North Area Railway Siding.
As quoted by Abid Hussain the matter needs immediate and extensive investigation By WCL Top Brass, so that the scam can be stopped to prevent further revenue losses to WCL.
The matter involves Private Rakes that transport coal from the siding. The rakes are supposedly being filled below its total capacity causing losses to WCL (since WCL pays for the transportation of the coal to its clients) but greatly helping one such employee of WCL siding to make extra money at the cost of WCL’s losses.
As informed by Abid Hussain, Siding In charge at Wani North WCL railway siding is deliberately short filling the rake (Below the rake capacity) for his selfish and malicious reason. Shravan Kumar, the siding in charge is responsible to ensure that each rake at the siding is filled upto the permissible capacity and doing so ensures that WCL won’t incur overheads.
Not filling the rake to its permissible capacity means direct losses to WCL, since WCL has to bear additional expenses to deliver the short supply of the customer by paying for the freight again to the private rake operating Company to compensate towards the short supply.
Abid Hussain explained that if a customer asks for 5000 tons and he receive 4500 tons, then WCL has to ensure that the shortage of the ordered coal is fulfilled by sending the customer the difference of the ordered quantity, for this they (WCL) will have to bear additional cost of rake charges that has to be paid to the Private rake owning company. But this loss can be stopped if the rake is properly loaded (which actually can transport 5000 tons).
But the Siding In charge deliberately ensures that the rake is not filled to its capacity of 5000 tons, since he is hand in glove with the private rake owners, who pay the in charge a certain amount as his cut, each time a new rake is parked in the siding for filling. This way the private rake owners make extra freight, while WCL faces losses.
Check the record of the private rake since it was inducted and you will find the truth, Claims Abid Hussain. He added that in order to fulfil his selfish motives, he is putting the company to a loss. Furthermore, the same person was at Dhonsa Mines as a Nodal officer and there too he was involved in such malpractices. At Dhonsa mines, for his personal benefits he used to load the trucks of a few favored merchants with good quality big chunks of coal and was also pulled up for allowing unladen trucks to be parked inside the mines in the night hours, which was not permissible by WCL. When his complaints reached the ears of the past CGM R K Singh, he was transferred to Junad mines, and from there too he was shunted to Wani railway siding. Habits die hard, and as a chronically corrupt Person, his antics did not change a bit and at Wani Siding too he developed another trick to make extra money for himself.
Abid Hussain urges the top brass of WCL to investigate this corrupt person’s past records to find out the reality. He further also mentioned that a detailed inquiry and investigation in this matter should be initiated to figure out the truth in his claim.
