Nagpur :-25 years old male’s dreams were shattered when he met an accident at Chhindwara bypass. He was brought to Neurosys Multispeciality centre, Ramdaspeth Nagpur after the accident. The accident left him quadriplegic and he was unable to move any of his limbs. He had severe spinal cord injury with complete loss of power. He was taken to the operation theatre immediately. Dr Ritesh Nawkhare performed the surgery where the dislocated bones were fixed in the correct position and pressure from the spinal cord and the nerves was removed. He got back the power of his hands and legs post surgery. The biggest achievement was that the patient was sent home walking.
Dr Ritesh Nawkhare said early treatment with proper stabilization of spinal bones and releasing the pressure on the nerves in correct manner was the crucial part.
Dr Nawkhare is a neurosurgeon and an alumni from the prestigious BIN institute Kolkata. He also is trained for endoscopic spine surgery. He is the director of Neurosys Multispeciality Centre, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
