Mumbai :- Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais presided over the Europe Day celebrations organised by the Council of European Union (EU) Chambers of Commerce in India at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai on Tue (25 Jun). The Chamber founded in 1992 promotes trade and economic relations between India and EU countries.
Stating that India’s relations with European Union countries date back to several centuries, Governor Ramesh Bais called for enhancing inter university collaboration between universities in EU countries and those in Maharashtra. He expressed the need to promote Indology and Sanskrit studies in EU universities.
Film Director and Producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Addl Chief Secretary Manisha Mhaiskar, President of EU Chambers Piyush Kaushik, Vice President Robin Banerjee, Director Dr Renu Shome and Consuls and trade representatives of various countries were present.
