Nagpur :- A state-of-the-art IRCTC Food Plaza was inaugurated today at Platform No. 1 (West Side) of Nagpur Railway Station. The new multi-floor food plaza, operated by renowned brand Haldiram, is now open to passengers and is set to provide high-quality food services round the clock. This initiative aims to enhance the passenger experience with the availability of both dine-in and takeaway facilities.
The contract for the operation of the Food Plaza has been awarded to Haldiram for a period of 9 years, with an annual license fee of ₹1.20 crore. The facility features a well-equipped restaurant complete with a washroom for the convenience of passengers. This development marks a significant improvement in the amenities available at Nagpur Station.
Previously, the food plaza operated by Comsome had been non-operational since April 2023, following the surrender of the contract. The new Haldiram-operated food plaza is expected to not only meet the high demand for quality food but also generate significant employment, with around 60 persons employed directly.
This Food Plaza is another step in Central Railway’s efforts to improve services and facilities for passengers, ensuring comfort and convenience at every stage of their journey.
