Mumbai :- As per the ‘AAI’ women-centric/Gender Inclusive tourism policy of the state government dated June 19, 2023, various schemes are being implemented by MTDC for women tourists and women entrepreneurs. As part of this policy, a 50% discount is being offered to women for 8 days from March 1 to March 8, 2024, at all premium tourist residences of the corporation, informed Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan.
Minister Mahajan said, “MTDC’s resorts/tourist residences are located at important places across the state. The corporation has a total of 34 tourist residences, and 27 restaurants, and offers experiences like Bed and Breakfast, Mahabhraman, Kalagram, Visitor Centers, and Eco-Tourism. Recently, under Responsible Tourism, MTDC has made significant progress. Similarly, various types of tourist residences and restaurants like Beach Resorts, Heal Resorts, Jungle Resorts, as well as Boat Clubs, Scuba Diving (IISDA), etc., attract tourists.”
Minister Mahajan stated, “Maharashtra is an important state from a tourism perspective. It is the only state in the country with 6 World Heritage Sites, over 850 caves, and nearly 400 forts. Maharashtra is rich with various mountain ranges, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, rivers, cultural heritage, traditions, costumes, festivals, and celebrations. These scenic, natural, and historical places in Maharashtra always attract domestic and international tourists. Since its establishment in 1975, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has been the leading and foremost tourism organization in Maharashtra.
