(Nagpur Metro Rail Project)
NAGPUR : Probationary officers of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) today visited Metro Bhawan to have a first-hand glimpse of the project and to understand its basic working. The officials, belong to 2020-21 batch and are presently in Nagpur as part of their ongoing training module Maharashtra Darshan Phase-2 – Vidarbha Region.
The officials arrived at Metro Bhawan and visited its various sections. The officials were taken around the Experience Centre, Exhibition Centre, Library, Circular Gallery of Metro Bhawan. The officials were also shown the Operational Control Centre (OCC) of Maha Metro. The train operations and the other aspects of the operational control centre were told to these officials.
The officials were also given a presentation on the various facets of Metro operations like 6D BIM Model, the progress achieved over the years, the challenges faced during execution etc. The records credited to Maha Metro and the various achievements in the form of Guinness World Records, Asia and India Book of Records were told to the probationary officers.
The other major issues like Double Decker on single pier, the sustainability achieved by the project, the various innovative steps taken which ensured savings in the project cost, efforts being taken for promotion of Non-Fare Box Revenue were briefed to them. The officers were particularly impressed with the MetroNeo technology, which is proposed to be introduced in Nasik.
The officers were addressed by Anil Kokate, Director (Strategic Planning), Maha Metro. The IAS officials also interacted with Kokate on many issues. Kokate highlighted major aspects of Maha Metro which have played a big role in speedy execution of the project and the grievance redressal mechanism of the Organization, which has helped in better execution of the project. The officials were very appreciative of the project achieved by Maha Metro.
