Nagpur :- In line with its commitment to enhancing the passenger experience through technology, Central Railway Nagpur Division has launched a new initiative to provide digital payment facilities at reserved and unreserved ticket counters using QR code devices. This innovative solution is now available at counters across the Nagpur Division, streamlining the ticket purchasing process for passengers and promoting the use of cashless transactions.
From September 1, 2024, to October 20, 2024, Nagpur Division issued unreserved tickets amounting to ₹1,23,55,936 for 1,54,669 passengers and issued reserved tickets amounting 1,49,58,240 for 26,489 passengers. With the introduction of QR code payment options, passengers purchasing tickets at these counters can now enjoy quicker, easier digital payments without the need for physical cash or change.
This initiative builds upon the success of previous digital systems, including mobile ticketing for reserved tickets and the UTS on Mobile app for unreserved tickets. By integrating QR code devices at ticket counters, Central Railway is taking a significant step towards a more seamless, efficient, and cashless ticketing experience for passengers.
