New Delhi :- The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has hailed the passing of the Jan Vishwas ( Amendment of Provisions ) Bill,2023 yesterday by the Rajya Sabha. The CAIT termed the Bill as a game changer and one of the most proactive steps to bring ease of doing business envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal has complimented Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goel for this landmark bill which will benefit crores of the traders of the Country bringing much relief to them.
Khandelwal said that it is for the first time that any government in the Country has realised the pain and unnecessary harassment of the traders even for a small or unintended mistake. CAIT National President B.C.Bhartia said that the relief to the traders can be gauged from the fact that the Bill seeks to decriminalise minor offences by amending 183 provisions of 42 Acts belonging to 19 Union Government Ministries.
Both Bhartia and Khandelwal recalled that the process of decriminalising the minor offences began with amendment in three sections of the Legal Metrology Act of the Consumer Affairs Ministry headed by Piyush Goel about a year back. It amply reflects the mindset of the Government that no hardships should be faced by the business community.
The CAIT has greatly acknowledge the statement of Goel made yesterday in the Rajya Sabha that ” desh vishwas par chalega” ” saral jo galtiyan hoti hain ya pehli bar jo galtiyan hoti hain to unke liye saral vyavastha ho”: It is a big statement of the Government reflect the level of trust, the Government is putting on the traders. The trading community is thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this unprecedented approach towards the traders. Bhartia and Khandelwal urged Goel to make efforts in removing similar provisions in GST and other various Bills. However, habitual offenders, tax evaders and other like people should not be spared-added both leaders.
