Immediate implementation of Kunbi Certificates – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
During this time, Chief Minister Shri. Shinde informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting on the Maratha reservation. He said that the government is primarily focused on maintaining uninterrupted law and order, and it’s essential to maintain harmony among different castes in Maharashtra. The aim is to provide reservations to the Maratha community, and all parties and organizations should explain this matter to their workers. On the one hand, we are firmly presenting the state government’s stance in the Supreme Court through the curative petition. For this, an advisory committee under the chairmanship of Adv. Dilip Bhosale has been appointed. On the other hand, we have also instructed the Backward Class Commission to provide empirical data without any mistakes.
Will provide reservation to Marathas by rectifying previous mistakes
The Supreme Court had previously canceled the Maratha reservation due to certain reasons and errors. Now, all precautions are being taken to ensure that such errors do not recur while collecting new data. With these steps, we are confident that the Maratha community will receive sustainable reservations in court. After the cabinet meeting yesterday, an immediate government order was issued in this regard, and all district collectors and tehsildars have been instructed to issue certificates to those registered as Kunbis immediately. Instructions have also been given to translate documents into Modi script and Urdu language, digitize them, bring them into the public domain, and issue Kunbi caste certificates based on them.
At this time, Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Fadnavis also said that utmost efforts will be made to justify the backwardness of the Maratha community through judicial processes and the state Backward Class Commission will provide complete data without errors within the stipulated time frame.
Advocate General Birendra Saraf also provided information about the judicial process. Initially, the Social Justice Department Secretary Shri. Bhange provided information about the proceedings done by Adv. Sandeep Shinde’s committee to date. Instructions have also been given to all district collectors and tehsildars to issue certificates to those registered as Kunbis.
At the meeting, the opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Danve, the opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly, Wadettiwar and representatives of other present parties also shared their views.
