Nagpur :- For more than two decades, Journalists who create awareness in the society and actively contribute to raise the standard of living of the underprivileged in the society have been honored with awards on behalf of the Arvindbabu Deshmukh Pratishthan. This foundation awards ‘Arvindbabu Deshmukh Patrakarita Puraskar’ to recognize the contribution of dignitaries in Maharashtra and national level journalism. In 2016 at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai the award was presented by the then Governor Vidyasagar Rao and the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Also in 2019, the award was presented by senior journalist Arun Shourie in Nagpur. The prestigious award ceremony for 2020-21 was postponed due to the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, a felicitation ceremony for the year 2020-21 by giving awards to the distinguished journalists will be held on February 03, 2023 (Friday) at 4.00 PM at Vanamati Auditorium, VIP Road, Dharampeth, Nagpur.
“We have been organizing the award ceremony every year since 1999 in the name of Late Arvindbabu Deshmukh, my grandfather and father of former Minister of Maharashtra State and senior leader of Congress Ranjeetbabu Deshmukh. Extending the scope of this award from Vidarbha level, this award is being given at Maharashtra level. This year too, we are felicitating eminent personalities in journalism working in electronic media and print media on different fields selected by the selection committee of the jury. Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar for 2020-21 was announced to Late Dinkar Keshav Raikar (then Consulting Editor, Lokmat, Mumbai). His successor will accept the award. The award is in the form of Rs 1 lakh, a memento and a certificate of honor. Journalists working in various other fields will be honored by giving an amount of cash, certificates and mementos under Special Journalism Awards. Sanjay Awte (Divyamarathi, Aurangabad) for outstanding performance in print media, Nilesh Khare (Sam TV, Mumbai) for outstanding performance in electronic media, Vishwas Waghmode (Indian Express, Mumbai) for an excellent research paper, Dr. Radheshyam Jadhav (Hindu Business Line, Pune) for Best Agriculture Journalism, Tushar Kharat (Lay Bhari, Mumbai) for Outstanding E-media, Devendra Gawande (Loksatta, Nagpur) for Best Social Journalism, Meghna Dhoke (Lokmat, Nasik) as Best Woman Journalist, Mahendra Kumar Mahajan (Sakal, Nasik) for Best Corona Health Reporting will be awarded. The awardees will be honored at the hands of nationally renowned senior journalist P.Sainathand and this program will be presided over by Ranjitbabu Deshmukh”, informed by former MLA and Working Chairman of Arvindbabu Deshmukh Patrakarita Puraskar Committee, Dr. Ashishrao R. Deshmukh. He has appealed to all journalist brothers & sisters of electronic and print media as well as citizens to attend this event and encourage the awardees.

Along with the political field, he also wrote on businessmen, social activists, education experts, various movements along with IAS/IPS officers.
