Nagpur :- National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), a premier Central Training Institute (CTI) recognized by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) under Munitions India Limited, accredited by Capacity Building Commission marked a historic milestone with its first-ever Board of Governors meeting for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Course specializing in Defence, a pioneering initiative in the country to further the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
The distinguished galaxy of the Board of Governors (BoG) convened to deliberate upon this groundbreaking endeavor. The Board was graced by luminaries including; Ravi Kant, Chairman and Managing Director of Munitions India Limited, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Debashish Banerjee, Director of Human Resources at Munitions India Limited, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, Arun Ramchandani, Executive Vice President of the L&T Group, Vishal Agrawal, President of Vidarbha Industries Association, Dr. J. P. Dash, General Manager of NADP, along with other esteemed members from the NADP.
During the meeting, Ravi Kant, Chairman of the Board of Governors, underscored Munitions India Limited’s commitment to play a pivotal role in the Defence Production landscape through NADP. He emphasized the strategic importance of this PGDM course and discussed plans for international collaborations with leading multinational corporations to provide students with invaluable industrial immersion experiences.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, shared insights into best practices for PGDM education and provided an overview of the renewed guidelines from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Arun Ramchandani, Executive Vice President of the L&T Group, elaborated on the expectations of the Defence Industry from emerging managers.
The Board of Governors focused on equipping students with essential skills for strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and decision-making within the context of defence production and systems. They lauded NADP for its pioneering step in launching a course with unique content tailored to the evolving needs of the industry.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, NADP PGDM students presented a captivating cultural program. Their mesmerizing performances, including Shayari, Dance, Drama, and Song, left the audience spellbound, showcasing the exceptional talents and creativity of the students.
NADP also took the opportunity to honour its star faculty members for their invaluable contribution in establishing a robust foundation for the institution’s future educational initiatives. These distinguished faculty members, drawn from diverse industry backgrounds, start-ups, and corporate practices, have played a pivotal role in shaping the academic excellence of NADP.
In alignment with the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, NADP is determined to foster indigenous defence capabilities by developing professionals who can drive indigenous defence production, innovation, and technology development. This initiative is set to play a crucial role in bolstering indigenous defence manufacturing endeavours, with plans underway for international immersion to provide students with a global perspective.
