Madgaon -Mumbai Vande Bharat Express welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus
Mumbai :- The Madgaon (Goa)- Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will definitely give a filliip to the tourism development of Konkan region that is naturally equipped with vast beaches, mango- coconut – palm trees, groves, hills and valleys said chief minister Eknath Shinde.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday morning gave Green Signal to the Vande Bharat Express running between Madgaon and Mumbai. After this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde welcomed the Vande Bharat Express at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, yesterday evening. He was speaking on this occasion.
The chief minister interacted with the loco pilot and commuters of Vande Bharat Express and gave them sweets and Roses while welcoming on the station. The school education minister and guardian minister of Mumbai city Deepak Kesarkar, tourism minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Member of Parliament Rahul Shewale, Member of Parliament Krupal Tumane, member of legislative assembly Yamini Jadhav, General Manager of Central Railway Naresh Lalwani, General Manager of Mumbai division Rajneesh Goyal were present on the occasion.
Speaking further, Chief Minister Shinde said that the sustainable development of tourism will be evident as the railway between Economic capital of the Nation’- Mumbai and Goa, which is leading in tourism, has been started. He said that the Vande Bharat train will be equipped with various facilities which will make the journey of passenger from Konkan more comfortable. He further said that the Vande Bharat Express is manufactured in the country and it will be helping in bringing the dream of ‘Self reliant’ _Atmanirbhar Bharat_ to reality.
Shinde further said that the union government has given rupees 13 thousand crores for infrastructure facilities of Railways in the state, adding that total of 123 railway stations, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, will be developed using this funds. He also said that efforts are on to complete the railway projects, including bullet train, in the state with the assistance of union government. He also said that the land acquisition work for bullet train is going on.
Addressing the program School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar said it is a matter of pleasure that the Vande Bharat Express is arriving from Konkan. He said that all the facilities at par with International standards are available in this train and through this medium, India has reached the international level. He said that the residents of Konkan made available land for Konkan Railway. Member of Parliament Shewale said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started fifth Vande Bharat Express for the state, adding that tourism in Goa and Konkan will get a boost because of Vande Bharat Express.
General manager Lalwani said that today this is a very happy moment for the central railway. He said that earlier the Vande Bharat Express was started from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Shirdi and Solapur adding that both these trains are getting good response from the passengers. He also gave detailed information about the Vande Bharat Express to be running between Madgaon and Mumbai. He exuded confidence that the people of Mumbai and Konkan will be benefited by the train. Public representatives, senior officers of the railway department, commuters and people were present in large number on the occasion. The artists of Mandal Sanskriti Academy presented cultural program.
