Nagpur :- The South Indian community celebrated the Samuhik Bogi Utsav at the ancient Shri Shiv Temple located at Belishop Motibagh Railway Colony, Kamthi Road. The festival was organized under the joint aegis of Prachin Shri Shiv Mandir and South Indian Federation. This festival is celebrated on the day of Makar Sankranti, on the occasion of new crop of rice, Bhogi and Pongal festival is celebrated.In the morning, the South Indian community came in traditional clothes, lit a bogi and prayed to God while doing bhajan kirtan and circumambulating the Bhogi.
On this occasion, a group morning procession was taken out at 5 am in the Brahma Muhurta. In which people from all sections of the society and all the members of Sai Seva Samiti Nagpur participated in large numbers.
After that, bhajan kirtan was performed from 5.30 to 6.30 in the temple premises of Lord Shiva. Prakashrao (Gundu Rao), P. Satyarao, Dr. Praveen Dabli, Manish Naidu, Laxman Murthy and all the office bearers and workers of the ancient Shri Shiv Mandir and South Indian Federation made efforts for the success of the programme.
