Nagpur :- T53 male tiger of Deolapar (Wildlife) range was reported to be injured probably due in territorial fight. As per report, its wound was not healing naturally. Thus, after physical examination of closeup picture and video clips, and after getting veterinary opininon, it was decided by the department to rescue the animal.
Today, tiger entered inside the abandoned old Protection Hut in compartment no 509 in Khursapar beat of Deolapar (Wildlife) range. On receipt of the information, Vivek Rajurkar, Range Forest Officer, Deolapar (Wildlife), Rahul Shinde, Range Forest Officer Chorbahuli, Dr. Nikhil Bangar, Veterinary Officer, Pench Tiger Reserve, Rapid Rescue Team, Special Tiger Protection Team rushed to the spot and Tranquilized & rescued the T53 male tiger. Tiger has a deep wound in the middle area of both eyes.
Wound got primary treatment and the tiger was caged for further routine treatment. Rescue operation was being carried out under guidance of Dr. Prabhu Nath Shukla, Deputy Director, and Pooja Limbgaonkar, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Anti Poaching Unit Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra.
