NAGPUR :- Maha Metro Nagpur commuters can now avail of shared Auto Rickshaw Service from 20 Metro Stations now. With the service being launched from remaining stations on Reach-IV (From Sitabuldi Interchange to Prajapati Nagar) today (15th March), all stations on this section Reach-IV have shared autorickshaw services now.
As of now, this service is available from half of the total 37 operational Metro Stations. Accordingly the first inauguration of the service was done on 2nd Feb 2024 at Kasturchand Park Metro Station at the hands of the Shravan Hardikar, MD, Maha Metro. Since then, Nagpur Metro has been introducing this service on a regular basis in the city.
Presently Shared Autorickshaw Service is available at Chatrapati Nagar, JP Nagar and Ujjwal Nagar Metro Stations (Reach I – Sitabuldi Interchange to Khapri Metro Station), Kasturchand Park, Kadbi Square, Nari Road & Automotive Square (Reach II – Sitabuldi Interchange to Automotive Square), Zanshi Rani Square, Institute of Engineers, Shankar Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar (Reach III – Sitabuldi Interchange to Lokmanya Nagar) and Cotton Market, Nagpur Railway Station, Dosar Vaisya Bhawan, Agrasen Square, Chitar Oli Square, Telephone Exchange Square, Ambedkar Square and Vaishnodevi Square and Prajapati Nagar Metro Station.
Services on the remaining 17 stations – Bansi Nagar, Vasudev Nagar, Rachna Ring Road, Subhash Nagar, Dharampeth College, LAD College, Khapri, New Airport, Airport South, Airport, Ajni Square, Rahate Colony, Congress Nagar, Zero Mile, Gaddigodam, Sitabuldi Interchange would start soon.
If the drivers of Autos, collaborated for this service, commit any traffic violation or break the laws, the RTO and Traffic Police shall take action against them as per rules. Maha Metro has appealed all the auto drivers to follow the prevailing rules & laws and see that the citizens get the hassle free service.
