Korba :- On February 13, a ‘Sangharsh Sabha of Displacement Victims’ is being organized under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha in Banki Mongra area of Korba district. The meeting was addressed by Rakesh Tikait, leader of United Kisan Morcha, Badal Saroj, Joint Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha, Rajveer Singh Jadaun, General Secretary of BKU, Alok Shukla, Convener of Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan and Sanjay Parate, President of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, among others.
District Secretary of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha Prashant Jha said that thousands of farmers will participate in the Sangharsh Sabha and raise their voice against the policies of the Modi government at the Centre and the Bhupesh government in the state that displace farmers and tribals. This Sangharsh Sabha is being organized in Ganganagar on February 13 at 5 pm. After participating in the Mahasammelan of the farmers of Hasdeo-Surguja region, Tikait will address the public meeting organized by the Kisan Sabha here. He told that Rakesh Tikait, the leader of the United Kisan Morcha, had come to address the national convention of Kisan Sabha held in Kerala recently, then he met him and talked about the problems of the displaced people of Korba district and invited him to Korba.
It is noteworthy that in Korba district, the Kisan Sabha’s continuous campaign-movement is going on regarding the problems of displaced villagers by SECL and issues related to tribal forest rights. In Kusmunda, the protest is going on continuously for 465 days on the question of providing employment to the displaced people. Similarly, on the demand of rehabilitation in rural areas and providing basic human facilities in rehabilitated villages, mine closures have taken place several times and demonstrations were also organized recently on the arrival of the Chief Minister on the demand of giving forest rights to tribals occupying forest land.
Kisan Sabha leader said that today Korba district is one of the most polluted districts of the country. Due to the erratic construction of ash dams by NTPC and other plants, the agriculture and agriculture of the farmers has been permanently destroyed and the health of the general public is being affected so dangerously that the average life of the people has reduced to half. Kisan Sabha is also organizing the affected farmers against this.
He said that these movements have also got huge support from the rural people. Due to the agitations going on at various places on these issues, the administration has also been criticized many times. With the arrival of Tikait, the movements against displacement and against the anti-farmer and anti-tribal policies of the central and state governments will get more strength.
Kisan Sabha leader told that preparations have started on a large scale for the reception of Tikait and Sangharsh Sabha. Five vehicle Jathas will be taken out for four days in the entire district and through street meetings, group meetings and distribution of pamphlets in the villages, the message of the Sabha will be publucised, so that the Kisan Sabha can be mobilized on the issues related to farmers, land and displacement. The message of the need to develop a common vision and joint struggle will be conveyed to the general public. Along with this, all small and big organisations who are struggling with honesty on these issues of the general public,
