Nagpur :- Over 150 school children visited Sitabuldi Fort today, where the students were thrilled to gain valuable insights and learnt important historical facts about Fort & reasons of its fortification, etc.
Students learnt about the Maratha dynasties and their purpose to establish a strong citadel to safeguard themselves from the British Empire.
The spotlight of the Fort was the prison cell where the Great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned, the 270° range canon firing on the hill, the artificial cliff, the artillery gun point, the underground tunnels, the abandoned cells, the Jai Stambh (a pillar dedicated to the martyrs), the graveyard and shrine in the name of the great personalities and the silent forest atmosphere at Sitabuldi Fort
Army official of HQ UM&G Sub Area briefed them about the historical significance of the fort, its geographical advantage, its scientific brilliance & the military values.
