Nagpur :- In a decisive move against unauthorized railway reservation e-ticketing, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Wardha apprehended an individual involved in black marketing of railway e-tickets. Acting on intelligence received from headquarters, the RPF team raided a location in Wardha and uncovered a major illegal ticket booking operation.
During the operation, officials identified a person running a business that included mobile repairs, recharges, and travel ticketing services. Further inquiry revealed that the individual had previously obtained an authorized agent ID, which had since expired. To continue operations illegally, multiple unauthorized personal user IDs were created to book railway e-tickets for customers in exchange for commissions.
Upon examining the suspect’s mobile device, RPF officials discovered 26 unauthorized user IDs used for illegal ticket bookings. A total of 27 completed railway e-tickets worth ₹93,862.45 were seized, along with a mobile phone valued at ₹15,000, bringing the total seizure amount to ₹1,08,862.45.
This crackdown under ‘Operation Uplabdh’ underscores the Railway Protection Force’s commitment to curbing illegal ticketing, ensuring fair access to reservations, and preventing revenue loss. Passengers are urged to book tickets only through authorized IRCTC agents or official railway platforms to avoid inconvenience.
