RPF NAGPUR DIVISION RESCUES 9 MINOR BOYS FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING NETWORK

Nagpur :- In a remarkable display of vigilance and dedication, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nagpur Division, successfully rescued nine minor boys from a human trafficking network at Nagpur Railway Station. This rescue operation exemplifies the RPF’s commitment to protecting vulnerable lives and ensuring justice.

Acting on a timely tip-off and real-time monitoring through CCTV surveillance, the joint efforts of RPF Nagpur, the Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS), and the Central Intelligence Bureau (CIB) foiled the trafficking attempt. Sub-Inspector Hotilal Meena, In-charge of CPDS Nagpur, identified suspicious activity involving minors near the PRS counter during routine CCTV monitoring at approximately 11:00 AM.

The swift and coordinated response by the RPF team, including Principal Constable Kam Singh Thakur, Constable Neeraj Kumar, ASI Manoj Pandey, LCT Deepa Kaithwas, LHC Veena Soren, and others, led to the apprehension of a suspected trafficker and the safe rescue of the minors.

The rescued minors, nine boys aged between 12 and 18 years, were from Bihar districts such as Bhojpur and Buxar. Initial investigations revealed that they had been lured with promises of money and light work at private companies in Nagpur. Following their rescue, the boys underwent medical examinations and were safely transferred to a government shelter home. Their families were informed and connected through phone calls to ensure their well-being.

The suspected trafficker was handed over to GRP Nagpur, which has registered a case under relevant sections, including the Juvenile Justice Act and the Child Labour Act. The operation also involved collaboration with Childline and the District Protection Officer to ensure the rescued minors’ safety and well-being.

Under the leadership of the Manoj Kumar, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Nagpur Division continues to uphold its new motto, “Duty with Passion,” with exemplary performance. This operation is a testament to the proactive approach and unwavering dedication of the RPF in safeguarding the lives of those most vulnerable.
