Nagpur :- In a continued effort to enhance rail safety, Northern Railway’s (NR) Safety Audit Team, led by PCSO/NR, Dimpy Gard, conducted an Inter-zonal Safety Audit at Nagpur Division, Central Railway, on 13th and 14th November 2024. The purpose of this audit was to identify areas requiring improvement in asset maintenance, safety procedures, and infrastructure, to proactively prevent accidents and promote best practices across Indian Railways.
The NR Safety Audit team inspected several key assets and installations within the Nagpur Division, including critical infrastructure such as the Nagpur Route Relay Interlocking, Goods Yard, TRD Installations at Ajni, Wardha ART/SPARMV, Wardha RRI, Crew Lobby, Running Room at Wardha, Level Crossings, Bridges, Curves, and Tracks. The inspection aimed to pinpoint systematic defects and areas of vulnerability, and to ensure that best and innovative practices for safety are exchanged and implemented across the zones.
Dimpy Gard was accompanied by several senior officials from Northern Railway, including:

3. Amit Shrawn – CPM /HYT (Chief Project Manager, Hydrogen Train)

This Inter-zonal Safety Audit is a significant part of Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to improve safety standards and ensure a robust safety culture. By evaluating infrastructure, maintenance practices, and safety protocols across zones, Indian Railways continues its mission to protect both passengers and railway staff through continuous improvements and knowledge sharing.
