Mumbai :-Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the ‘Ayurved Shiromani’ Samman’ to Padma Bhushan Vaidya Devendra Triguna, President, Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, New Delhi and Prof Vaidya Rakesh Sharma, President, Ethics & Registration Committee, National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicines, New Delhi at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Mon (9 Jan).
The awards instituted by the Vaidya Sureshchandra Chaturvedi Health Foundation were presented to the two Ayurvedacharyas in recognition of their exemplary services in the field of Ayurveda.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Koshyari called upon young Ayurveda Vaidyas to find out sureshot medicines for various ailments through modern research. Vaidya Devendra Triguna urged the Governor to create a separate Ayurveda University in Maharashtra on the lines of similar Universities in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gujarat and other states.
Managing Trustee of the Foundation Vaidya Mahendra Chaturvedi, Director, AYUSH, Maharashtra Dr Rajeshwar Reddy, Vaidyas and Professors from Mumbai region and students were present.
