Yeotmal :-As per our yesterday’s news we informed that 8 trucks loaded with coal from a private coal mine were detained by the Local Crime Branch of Wani, Dist. Yeotmal. These trucks were reportedly evading royalty and were also were over loaded by approximately 3-4 ton (each truck) but the weightage receipts claimed it to be carrying 3-4 ton lesser than what was noticed on physical inspection.

This illegal operation of evading the royalty (one payment of royalty for one truck load, four trucks were being released and that too each truck being illegally loaded 3-4 ton in excess than specified in the receipt) was going on for many years and was undetected until the LCB got a tip off about the passage of these trucks. The informant tipped the LCB team owing to which a road block was put and thus these 8 trucks got detained. As per the Press Note released by the Police department section 41 (1) (D) of IPC was slapped on the persons ferrying this illegal load of coal since no receipts of the coal load or any receipt or documents could be produced for the same, hence the IPC section 41 (1) (D) was implied and the trucks were detained with the load the total of the trucks and the coal amounting to 2,21,00000/- ( two crores and twenty one lakh) . Further investigations in this matter are going on.
