“Karmaveer Dadasaheb’s Thoughts and Work Should Reach the Next Generation” – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

– Karmaveer M.S. Kannamwar Post-Centennial Silver Jubilee Celebration

Chandrapur :- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed that although Dadasaheb Kannamwar was born into a relatively backward working-class community, he proved his mettle through sheer hard work. “Dadasaheb was a visionary leader who lived his entire life dedicated to the development of the state and district. It is essential to pass on the thoughts and work of such leaders to the next generation,” stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Speaking at the Karmaveer M.S. Kannamwar Post-Centennial Silver Jubilee Celebration organized by Belar Samaj Sanghatana and Silver Jubilee Committee at Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Auditorium, the event was presided over by MLA Vijay Wadettiwar. The program was attended by National Backward Classes Commission Chairman Hansraj Ahir, MP Pratibha Dhanorkar, MLAs Kishore Jorgewar, Devrao Bhongale, Sudhakar Adbale, former minister Shobha Fadnavis, Acting District Collector Vivek Johnson, Municipal Commissioner Vipin Paliwal, organizing committee’s Rahul Kannamwar, Suryakant Khanke, and others.

The Chief Minister expressed joy in attending the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of the people’s leader Dadasaheb Kannamwar. He mentioned that Dadasaheb had participated in the country’s freedom struggle and was greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi and Lokmanya Tilak’s ideologies. During the Indo-China War, when Maharashtra’s first Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan was appointed as Defense Minister, M.S. Kannamwar took charge as the state’s Chief Minister for 1 year and 4 months. During this wartime period, Dadasaheb appealed to the public for financial support, to which Chandrapur district and Maharashtra responded generously with gold, silver, and monetary contributions.

Education and healthcare are crucial subjects, stated the Chief Minister. He highlighted that Karmaveer Dadasaheb was the first to propose having healthcare centers in every village. He also inspired many in the field of education. Dadasaheb made significant contributions to the state’s progress. The Chief Minister announced that a commemorative volume honoring Karmaveer Dadasaheb Kannamwar would be published by the Legislative Assembly’s Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the development of common people is also the goal of the current government. He urged all political representatives to work together for the district’s development, assuring that this unified approach would help resolve all district-related issues. He also promised to fulfill all the demands that were put forward.

During the event, MLA Vijay Wadettiwar and MLA Kishore Jorgewar also expressed their thoughts. The program began with the release of the M.S. Kannamwar commemorative souvenir by dignitaries. Chief Minister Fadnavis honored Dr. Gajanan Kotewar, Prabha Chilkhe, Rupesh Kokawar, Devrao Kastwar, and Gajanan Chandawar for their outstanding work in various fields.

Chief Minister’s Visit to Mata Mahakali Temple: During his Chandrapur visit, Chief Minister Fadnavis took darshan of Chandrapur’s presiding deity Mata Mahakali and participated in the Mahakali Mata’s Maha-aarti with devotion.
