Nagpur :- CBI has arrested two accused in separate cases while accepting bribe amount of Rs. 80,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- respectively.
In the first case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), today, arrested an Officer In-charge (OIC), Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic, Bulandshahr, (U.P.) on accepting bribe of Rs. 80,000/-.
CBI registered the instant case against the said Officer In-charge, ECHS Polyclinic, Bulandshahr (U.P.) on allegations of demanding undue advantage/illegal gratification of Rs.1,00,000/- per month for facilitating smooth functioning of medical related service to ECHS beneficiaries in associated 04 hospitals. It has also been alleged that the accused person mounted pressure on the complainant for the same. Further, it was alleged that the complainant’s firm was engaged in providing services related to medical treatment of ECHS beneficiaries in 04 Hospitals at Bulandshahr on outsourcing basis.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage/bribe amounting to Rs. 80,000/- out of demanded amount of Rs.1,00,000/- from the complainant. The accused person has been arrested and search is being conducted at residential premises of accused at Greater Noida.
It may be stated that ECHS was launched with an aim to provide allopathic and AYUSH Medicare to Ex-servicemen pensioners and their dependents through a network of ECHS Polyclinics, at Government hospitals, ECHS empanelled private hospitals/specified Govt. AYUSH hospitals spread across the country. The Scheme has been structured on the lines of CGHS to ensure cashless transactions, for the patients and is financed by the Government of India
The arrested accused persons will be produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad.
In another case, CBI apprehended Office Superintendent, Personnel Division, South East Central Railway (SECR), Nagpur for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant.
CBI registered the instant case on a complaint against accused Office Superintendent, Personnel Division, SECR, Nagpur on allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000/- from a Malaria Khalashi worker working in the same organization for processing his posting and re-deployment. On negotiation, the accused agreed to accept initial bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the Complainant.
CBI laid a trap and the said accused was caught red handed while accepting negotiated bribe amount of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant.
The searches are being conducted at the official and residential premises of the accused. The accused was arrested and will be produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Nagpur.
Investigation is continuing in both the cases.
