– Belgium keen to enhance cooperation in logistics, manufacturing and health care
Mumbai :- The Consul of Belgium in Mumbai Frank Geerkens today informed that Belgian Economic Mission to be led by Princess Astride, the sister of King Philippe of Belgium, will visit India in the month of March. He said apart from the existing trade in diamond and other commodities, emphasis will be laid on enhancing cooperation in logistics, manufacturing and healthcare.
The Consul General was speaking to Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Monday (Oct 21).
The Consul General said Belgium has a large diamond trade with Maharashtra and Gujarat. Stating that Belgium is the hub of healthcare, he said efforts are being made to increase cooperation in this field also.
He informed the Governor that the Federation of European Businesses in India (FEBI) is working to increase India-Europe trade. He said that Belgium is also cooperating with the Skill agency in Maharashtra to promote skill development.
Maharashtra Governor Radhakrishnan expressed the hope that free trade agreement between India and Europe when signed will double the multilateral trade.
