Nagpur :- VED is trying to establish the Vidarbha region as an iconic education hub for which it is proposing the setting up of a few prestigious institutions here. Nagpur has the NADT, Power Training Institutes, and other central Govt. institutes like NEERI, ICAR-Central Institute for Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR), ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (ICAR-CCRI), and more recently AIIMS, IIM etc. AJNIFM here would be of immense benefit, especially to central India.
The Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (AJNIFM) is a Center of Excellence specializing in capacity-building of professionals in the fields of Public Policy, Financial Management and other governance issues for promoting the highest standards of professional competence and practice. The values of honesty, integrity, transparency and respect for human beings always guide their efforts.
AJNIFM is a premier resource center to meet the training needs of Central Government for senior and middle level of management, and also caters to the State Governments, Defence establishments, Banks and other Financial Institutions.
AJNIFM plays a pivotal role in governance and administrative reforms by providing a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas & experiences among officers from different organized services, different state governments and between personnel of civil and defense establishments.
Apart from capacity building, AJNIFM is also engaged in serious research studies in the areas of accounting, audit, financial management, parliamentary financial control and other issues related to public policy and delivery systems. The outcomes of such research studies are published and disseminated through Research Papers, Journals and Books.
Nagpur-based NGO, the Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED), is a non-political organization working as a mission to survey, identify, study and then pursue various thrust areas like education and higher education, industrial manufacturing and services, mining, agriculture, logistics, etc. It attempts to act as a catalyst between the Govts. – State & Central – and stakeholders.
In this desire for the development of Vidarbha, VED has been pursuing the above project for a considerable length of time. An NIFM established in Nagpur would greatly benefit the people who want to take professional education from Vidarbha and several central Indian regions. Nagpur is a very suitable location considering its geographical centrality and good air, road and rail connectivity, equidistant from all parts of the country. Also, ample land is available in MIHAN.
