NAGPUR : A variety to issues pertaining to tribals in India and research showcasing their traditional knowledge and skills will be taken up at the Tribal Meet on January 4, 2023. The event is part of the 108th Indian Science Congress hosted by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
The Tribal Science Congress will be inaugurated at 11.00 am at the hands of Arjun Munda, Minister for Tribal Affairs, Government of India. Vijaykumar Gavit, Minister for Tribal Development, Government of Maharashtra, will be the guest of honour, informed session convenor, Dr. Shamrao Koreti.
The technical session will include lectures on the challenges of tribal development, uplift of tribal women in Gadchiroli, using vermin biotechnology for employment generation of tribals of Rajasthan, health benefits of tribal foods, and studies on tribal women in Nagaland and Odisha.
A special session on start-up and career guidance will be addressed by experts, bureaucrats, NGO officials and academicians, from 2.00 pm.
This will be followed by inspirational speeches by tribal leaders at 4.00 pm. Dr. Vikas Amte, Secretary, Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora, will be the chief guest for the concluding ceremony at 5.30 pm. Prof. Arjunsinh Rana, Vice Chancellor, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Gandhinagar, will be the guest of honour and Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, Pro Vice-Chancellor of RTM Nagpur University will preside over the session.
