Kolhapur :- Stating that elderlies in the society is our treasure since whatever efforts they took in their lives, chief minister Eknath Shinde said that their knowledge and experience is a rich legacy for us which is why it is our responsibility to bring joy and satisfaction in their lives. He said that with this feeling, the department of social justice and special assistance has launched Chief Minister Teertha Scheme for the citizens above 60 years from all the religions. Chief minister launched the scheme statewide via video conference. Minister for medical education and special assistance Hasan Mushrif who is also guardian minister for Kolhapur district showed green flag which marked actual start of the railway journey under this scheme. MP Dhairyasheel Mane was chief guest for the function a Kolhapur where 800 senior citizens started their journey with slogans of Jai Shreeram, Jai Shreeram.
Stating that he was happy that Teerth Darshan scheme is being launched with Dakshin Kashi, Aai Ambabai’s Kolhapur or Karvir, chief minister Shinde bowed before Aai Ambabai and Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj who was champion of social cause. He said that Prime Miniser Narendra Modi has brought in to reality the Ram Temple at Ayodhya and the first trip under Teertha Darshan scheme is going to Ayodhya which would provide an opportunity to all the participants. Congratulating all 800 senior citizens participating in he first inaugural trip the chief minister extended them his best wishes for the happy journey.
The senior citizens would be able to avail peace of mind along with spiritual satisfaction by visiting pilgrim centres in the state and in the country. The district level committees have been founded for this scheme and the state would bear the expenses for journey, stay and food of the selected beneficiaries. There are 66 from state and 73 pilgrim spots from all over the country included in this scheme and the scheme would be run in a transparent manner and with online registration.
Here are various facilities like medical aid is also provided in the train during the journey and for the help of participants, 10 employees from the social justice department along with 3 persons for medical help and 24 IRCTC have been deployed. Chief minister Shinde expressed confidence that with the launch from Kolhapur, this scheme would be implemented from all the districts of the state.

Expressing his happiness that earth Darshan scheme is being launched from Kolhapur, guardian minister Hasan Mushrif said that he is fortunate since the first train is starting journey under this scheme from Kolhapur. He assured that he officials from his department are taking due care so that there is no inconvenience to any of the passengers ravelling under this scheme.
