Nagpur :- Taxation & Corporate Law Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association is organizing a session on the most burning issue “GST on Transfer of Leasehold Rights” on Friday, 16th June, 2023 from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm at VIA Auditorium, Udyog Bhawan, Civil Lines, Nagpur – 440 001.
Industries have their units set up on the leasehold land provided by the State Industrial Development Corporation. For getting such rights over the land, these entities have to pay an upfront premium. The industrialists have an option to assign those leasehold rights for the balance duration of the contract to another entity which is endeavouring to setup their industrial unit. The taxability of such leasehold rights under GST has been a conundrum among various stakeholders.
CA Umesh Sharma, Vice Chairman of GST & Indirect Taxes Committee of ICAI, Delhi purports to examine the relevant aspects of its taxability in depth.
