Chandrapur :- In line with the directives of the Divisional Headquarters, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Chandrapur, organized a Railway Safety Awareness Campaign on 4th February 2025 at Bhavanjibhai Chavan High School & College, Chandrapur. The primary objective of this campaign was to educate school students about railway safety rules and related laws to ensure the protection of railway property and prevent accidental involvement in unlawful activities.
*Key Highlights of the Campaign:*
*Stone Pelting Hazards:* Students were informed about the dangers of throwing stones at trains, which can cause serious injuries to passengers and even fatal accidents. It was emphasized that stone pelting is a punishable offense under the Railway Act.
*Risks of Kite Flying Near Railway Premises:* The risks associated with flying kites near railway tracks and overhead wires were highlighted, including the possibility of electric shocks, disruptions in train operations, and potential accidents.
*Trespassing (Unauthorized Entry):* Students were advised against unauthorized entry into railway tracks or premises, as it is both dangerous and illegal. The importance of using designated railway crossings and avoiding unnecessary movement on tracks was stressed.
*Safety Precautions During Train Travel*: Vital safety tips were shared, such as avoiding standing at train doors, refraining from boarding or alighting moving trains, and not accepting food or drinks from strangers during travel.
*Discussion on Railway-Related Offenses:* A detailed discussion was held on various railway-related offenses, their prevention, and essential safety measures.
Students from classes 6 to 10 actively participated in the session. They were educated about different offenses under the Railway Act and the potential consequences of such actions. The RPF also conveyed that safeguarding railway property is not solely the responsibility of railway staff but a collective duty of every citizen.
This awareness initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility and caution among young minds, promoting a culture of railway safety and security within the community.
