Nagpur :- In a major breakthrough, a joint operation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur and the Central Intelligence Bureau (CIB) led to the interception of a liquor smuggling racket at Nagpur Railway Station on November 17, 2024. The operation, conducted under “Operation Satark,” was based on credible intelligence from a confidential informant.
A vigilant team comprising RPF and CIB personnel was deployed to monitor the Andaman Express (Train No. 16032). During surveillance of the train’s rear general compartment at around 3:18 PM, the team identified four suspicious, heavy bags placed under passenger seats. Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain 28 bottles of foreign liquor (750 ml each), valued at approximately ₹63,000
The individuals in possession of the liquor were detained, and the seized bottles were handed over to the Excise Department, Nagpur, for further investigation. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, 1959 (Crime No. 418/2024).
