Mumbai :- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the Foundation Stone for the work of revamp and re-development of 508 railway stations in the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, through online mode on Sunday (6 Aug). This includes 44 railway stations from Maharashtra. Redevelopment of three stations in Mumbai, namely Parel, Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg stations was also announced.
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Industry Uday Samant, MLA Kalidas Kolambkar, veteran journalist Ramesh Patange, Freedom Fighter Anant Laxman Gurav and General Manager of Central Railway Naresh Lalwani attended the program organized by Central Railway at Railway Colony Ground in Parel.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Bais said railways create a level playing field for the rich and the poor. Stating that Indian railways represents the unity in diversity of India, he expressed the hope that the railway station upgradation project will create prosperity in rural and urban areas and make development inclusive.
