Nagpur :- The Nagpur Division of Central Railway has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing its annual catering revenue target 48 days ahead of schedule. Under the dynamic leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Vinayak Garg and the strategic guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aman Mittal, the Catering Section recorded a cumulative earning of ₹9.01 Crore as of 11th February 2024, exceeding the set target of ₹8.80 Crore by 2.38%. This achievement also marks an 8.37% growth compared to the total revenue of the last financial year.
Key Achievements & Initiatives:
Stringent Action Against Unauthorized Vendors: 3,400 unauthorized vendors prosecuted, ensuring enhanced regulation and passenger safety.
Fire Safety Audit: Nagpur Division became the first division in Central Railway to achieve 100% fire safety audits of all catering stalls, reinforcing passenger security.
Food Safety & Hygiene Measures: More than 500 food and water samples collected and tested to maintain stringent hygiene standards for passengers.
Eat Right Station Certification: Nagpur station accredited under the Eat Right Station initiative, with certification cases for Ballarshah, Chandrapur, Sewagram, and Wardha currently in progress through third-party auditors.
Legal & Operational Reforms: Landmark victories in four legal cases and the successful implementation of a Vendor Management System, streamlining operations and enhancing transparency.
