Maharashtra Governor pays tributes to Martyrs on Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas; honours Veer Naris

Mumbai :-Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais placed a wreath at the Colaba War Memorial and offered his homage to the martyrs on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of the Kargil Vijay Diwas in Mumbai on Fri (26 July).

At a programme organised by the General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area, the Governor felicitated 11 Veer Naris and addressed the officers of the armed forces.

Complimenting the officers and jawans of the Armed Forces for the victory at the Kargil War, the Governor appealed to the youths to join the armed forces and maintain the winning streak. The Governor later flagged off the Kargil Vijay Diwas Motorcycle Expedition involving the jawans of 15 Battalion of the Assam Regiment. The Rally will reach Kargil on 4th August and reach at Pune on 15th August.

GOC in Chief Lt Gen Pawan Chadha, FOC in C Western Naval Command Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, Maj Gen Bikram Deep Singh, former GOC Lt Gen H S Kehlon and other serving and retired officers of the armed forces were present.
