Maha Metro & NMC feeder service to Pallotti College from Tuesday (1st April 2025)

NAGPUR :- Maha Metro Nagpur & Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have joined hands to provide feeder service to Saint Vincent Pallotti College of Technology and Engineering, Wardha Road. The service, which would benefit hundreds of college students and faculty members, would come into effect from 1st April 2025.

It all began with a Metro Samwad held recently at college which was jointly organized by Maha Metro and NMC. The event attracted an impressive crowd, with over 400 students and 35 faculty members attending it, signalling robust support for the city’s evolving public transport system.

It was decided to hold special camp for enrolling students and to enable students to purchase Maha Card and City Bus Pass. On the very first day of the special camp, 15 faculty members and 38 students bought Maha Card and City Bus pass in response to Maha Metro’s appeal “use public transportation save environment.”

The significant participation of faculty members reinforced confidence in Nagpur’s public transportation network, especially among the students, which is steadily gaining traction among commuters. This initiative is expected to serve as a leading example, encouraging even more students to adopt public transport as a primary means of commuting.

A key attraction of the camp was the discounted fare structure offered to students by Maha Metro and NMC. Maha Metro provides a flat 30% discount on every trip made using the Maha Card, while NMC extends an impressive 72% discount on a three-month bus pass for students. These cost-effective measures are designed to make public transport a more accessible and appealing option for students in Nagpur.

Beyond the immediate benefits of reduced travel costs, public transport holds transformative potential for urban life. An efficient transit system can alleviate road congestion, decrease pollution levels, and promote sustainable city living.

By facilitating connectivity and reducing reliance on private vehicles, initiatives like these contribute to a cleaner urban environment where mobility enhances both economic opportunities and quality of life. The continued collaboration between Maha Metro, educational institutions, and local authorities is transforming urban mobility.

After successful launch of feeder service for MIHAN area, Symbiosis International University, this is again the next step towards effective, efficient, reliable, commuter friendly & affordable last mile connectivity for the educational institute.
