NAGPUR : Just a week after two lines of Maha Metro were inaugurated on 11th December, Maha Metro has another feather to its cap – the Ridership on Sunday was 1,60,000 (Expected). The number of passengers travelled by Metro on all the four Reach till 9 pm were 1,56,789
In fact, the trend of increasing ridership was witnessed the day after the inauguration. The ridership on the inauguration day was 79,701. This despite the fact that Metro services were not available till 12 noon on 11th December – the day Hon Prime Minister was set to inaugurate the two lines and dedicate the Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase-I.
The Ridership figures for 12th December 2022 (Monday) were 1,09,754 and till today, the Maha Metro Nagpur Ridership has been on ascend. The Ridership figures for the next five days were 1,12,832 (Tuesday), 1,21,508 (Wednesday), 1,20,544 (Thursday) 1,23,008 (Friday) and 1,28,433 (Saturday).
The increase ridership is a testimony to the quality planning, design and execution that went into it. The selection of routes, with Sitabuldi Interchange as the central point is another aspect why Maha Metro ridership has seen a vertical trend. The fact that Maha Metro organised Samwaad (interactive sessions), started Mahiti & Sahyog Kendra is another aspect behind this.
The rush on the recently opened two lines was experienced almost throughout the second day. In fact, given the trend for some time now, Maha Metro ridership has been continuously on the two lines rise and considering these factors and anticipating this commuter rush, Maha Metro had deployed required staff at all levels to handle the increased commuters.
Maha Metro thanks Nagpurians for all their support and co-operation in reaching this milestone.
