Koradi : With an installed capacity of 2190 MW, Koradi Thermal Power Station has a reputation for outstanding performance in power generation. Koradi Thermal Power Station has made a major contribution in providing electricity to Maharashtra at regular and cheaper rates.
Koradi Thermal Power Station has achieved incremental success in PAT Cycle-2 to maintain consistently excellent performance and efficiency. PAT is a market-based mechanism under the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE) that makes energy savings more cost-effective through tradable amounts of energy savings. The concept of eco-friendly life is behind this project.
Koradi Thermal Power Station achieved a net unit heat rate of 2663.70 kcal/kWh after implementing various energy conservation projects and succeeded in reducing the target net unit heat rate by 655.90 kcal/kWh. This achievement has contributed to the reduction of environmental degradation/damage.
Koradi Thermal Power Station had achieved 132996 number of positive ESCerts, estimated to be worth Rs. 24.47 Crores. Koradi Thermal Power Station has a net share of 7 percent of the ESCerts received by all the designated consumers in the country.
This program was organized on the establishment day of Bureau of Energy Efficiency i.e. 1st March. Koradi Thermal Power Station was duly honored in the said program as Koradi Thermal Power Station was second among 154 National Thermal Power Stations in the country to obtain the second highest number of ESCerts under PAT-2. On this occasion R. K. Singh, Minister (Energy, New and Renewable Energy), Govt of India honored Koradi Thermal Power Station. Sharad Bhagat, Chief Engineer of Koradi Thermal Power Station accepted the honor in New Delhi. Government of India Alok Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Ajay Tiwari, Additional Secretary Ministry of Power, Director General of BEE Abhay Bhakere were mainly present on the occasion
