Mumbai :- Japan has been supporting Maharashtra in skill training since 2017 and under the Technical Intern Training Program, selected students from the state will be given on-the-job skill training in Japan for three to five years. This was stated by the newly appointed Consul General of Japan in Mumbai Yagi Koji. According to him, the first batch of students from Maharashtra will go to Japan in the month of June.
Yagi Koji who took charge as the Consul General of Japan in Mumbai recently was speaking to State Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai during a courtesy call on Friday (31st). State Chief Secretary Nitin Kareer was also present.
Yagi Koji said that Japan is providing financial assistance to India in completing development projects such as the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link ‘Atal Setu’, Underground Metro Line ‘Aqua Line” and the Bullet Train project. He said that Pune Okayama Friendship Garden has also been developed as a symbol of friendship between Pune and Okayama.
Congratulating the Consul General, Governor Ramesh Bais called for strengthening university level collaboration between Maharashtra and Japan, especially in the area of skill development.
