Nagpur :- In a remarkable initiative to promote child health and well-being, the Divisional Railway Hospital (DRH), Nagpur, successfully organized a Healthy Baby Contest for the children of Railway beneficiaries in the Nagpur and Ajni jurisdictions. The event, conducted at the Gunjan Hall of the DRM office campus, was held in collaboration with Nelson Hospital, Nagpur.
The contest, designed to encourage early health monitoring and awareness, focused on children in two age groups: 0-2 years and 2-5 years. Parameters such as weight, height, and overall development were evaluated to assess the children’s growth. Parents received expert feedback on their child’s development, along with practical tips for cultivating healthy habits and prioritizing early medical care.
Adding a fun and engaging element to the day, a series of games and activities were organized for the children, underscoring the importance of physical play in fostering holistic growth.
During the event, Dr. Mangesh Choudhari (DMO) delivered a motivational speech emphasizing the critical role of early health assessments, regular checkups, and nurturing environments in ensuring a child’s healthy development. His inspiring address resonated with parents and participants alike.
The event was steered by Dr. Shubhangee Sakhare (Sr. DMO) and culminated in a prize distribution ceremony graced by ADRM Prafull Khairkar as the Chief Guest and ADRM Shri Rupesh Chandekar as the Guest of Honour. Certificates of participation were presented to all participants, encouraging continued engagement in health and wellness initiatives.
CMS Dr. G.S. Manjunath expressed his heartfelt gratitude in the concluding remarks, extending special thanks to the parents, children, healthcare professionals, and staff whose contributions made the event a resounding success.
The contest benefitted 154 Railway beneficiaries and was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, including Dr. Likhita, Veera Nagarkar, Manjusha Matey, Pranay Meshram, Rupesh Sumatkar, Sanjay Sawle, and the staff of Nelson Hospital.
This initiative not only highlighted the importance of child health within the Railway community but also fostered unity and well-being among families, paving the way for a healthier future.
