Mumbai :-A delegation of 12 Members of Parliament from Nepal representing various political parties met Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sat (1 April).
The visit of the MPs from Nepal was organized by the Free Youth Democratic Union, Nepal with a view to study the functioning of democratic institutions in India. The visit was organised in association with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Welcoming the Parliamentary Delegation to Maharashtra, the Governor said India has always stood by its neighbours including Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan during difficult times. He appealed to the MPs from Nepal to support those who are taking the country in the right direction.
The MPs felicitated the Governor with prasad from the Pasupatinath temple. The Governor presented mementoes to the visiting MPs.
Members of Parliament Maina Karki, Santa B K, Pratima Gautam, Menuka Kumari Pokheral, Balram Adhikari, Narayan Acharya, Seraj Ahmad Farrouqui, Madhav Sapkota, Ziring Lama, Dr Dhaka Kumar Shreshtha, Sher Bahadur Kunwar. Chairman of the Free Youth Democratic Union Nepal Arbind Mahoto, Secretary Jeebit Subedi, VHP Coordinator Sanjay Dhavalikar, India Coordinators Mahesh Joshi and Rajyalaxmi Joshi were present.
