• Daan Utsav celebrated in Maha Metro, Winter Clothes etc Donated
NAGPUR :- Alike every year, this year too, Daan Utsav was celebrated in Maha Metro, Nagpur. As part of this noble celebration -Clothes, especially winter clothes, were collected from donors and handed over to officials of Aastha Beggars Rehabilitation Shelter, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Winter clothes were extensively donated as the city donors opted for giving warm clothes, considering the approaching winter season.
Daan Utsav – previously known as `Joy of Giving Week’ is a “philanthropic festival” that is celebrated every year by engaging people through “acts of giving” – money, time, resources, and skills – spanning the corporate, NGO, and government sectors, schools, colleges, and the general public. Daan Utsav is not about the amount one shares with others — it’s about the difference one makes and the smiles one brings to the donee’s face.
The handing over event was held in the presence of Sudhakar Urade, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), Maha Metro Nagpur and Devendra Kshirsagar, Director, Aastha Rehab Shelter, NMC.The campaign evoked good response from the Nagpurians, especially commuters. Nagpur Metro had made arrangements for collecting material from donors at its metro stations. Not just commuters, but Nagpur Metro employees, too were part of this campaign and they too contributed to this noble cause.
