Nagpur :-Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has launched an extensive drive against unauthorized vendors across major railway stations, including Nagpur, Sewagram, Wardha, Chandrapur, Balharshah, and Betul. Over the past six months, this focused operation has led to the registration of 3,234 cases against unauthorized vendors at stations and onboard trains.
This sustained campaign, carried out by commercial inspectors in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), aims to ensure safety, security, and improved passenger services.
In a first for Indian Railways, Nagpur Division has also introduced a QR code-based Traveling Authority and ID Card system for authorized vendors. This advanced system simplifies vendor verification and enhances monitoring across railway premises. So far, 987 authorized vendors under railway and IRCTC contracts have been issued these QR-based ID cards and Traveling Authorities.
The Central Railway Nagpur Division remains committed to maintaining high standards of service by curbing unauthorized activities and promoting transparency in vendor operations.
“Passengers are requested to always purchase food, water, and other edible items only from authorized vendors carrying valid QR-based ID cards. This ensures quality, hygiene, and safety for you and your family.
The authorized vendors are trained to provide the best service and are easily identifiable through their QR-based ID cards. Together, let us ensure a safe and pleasant journey for everyone.” DRM Vinayak Garg.
