Mumbai :– A working group of ministers under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been formed to implement National education policy as per the recommendations made in the report of the task force appointed regarding the National education policy. There are six ministers including deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis as members of this working group.
This working group has been formed to concentrate on all educational aspects right from schools to skill development and higher and technical education as well as maintaining best quality along with autonomy in the field of education. This working group has been formed to coordinate and balance the investment and resources as per National education policy 2020 and ensure successful implementation of this policy at all levels including all educational institutions and departments at state level right from pre-primary to higher educational institutions.
This working group is chaired by chief minister while deputy chief minister is the member along with minister for higher and technical education, minister for skill development and entrepreneurship, minister for school education, revenue minister, minister for medical education, minister for agriculture. Principal secretary to the department of higher and technical education is the member-secretary of this working group.
This working group would work for effective monitoring of National education policy implementation. The working group has mandate of time to time review of various committees appointed on various subjects as per the recommendations of Dr Mashelkar committee, discuss changes made from time to time as per the new policy, review action taken by departments as per the recommendations by the subject committees and conduct policy level discussions on potential changes in higher education as per the new National education policy.
