Nagpur :-In a sustained effort to enhance passenger safety, service quality, and hygiene, Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has intensified its crackdown on unauthorized vending and the sale of unauthorized packaged drinking water at stations and onboard trains. As part of this initiative, special surprise checks are being conducted at various locations to ensure strict compliance with railway regulations.
Over the past 15 days, stringent action has been taken against unauthorized vendors and illegal water supply. A total of 106 cases of unauthorized vending have been prosecuted, and 140 boxes of unauthorized packaged drinking water have been seized at Ballarshah station. These proactive measures are aimed at ensuring that only IRCTC-approved Rail Neer bottled water is available for passengers, thereby maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
To strengthen surveillance, railway officials and inspectors are conducting random surprise checks across multiple stations within the Nagpur Division. These checks are being carried out to enforce regulatory compliance and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers.
With the onset of the summer vacation period, railway authorities have heightened monitoring efforts to prevent unauthorized vending and ensure the availability of safe drinking water. Passengers are advised to purchase bottled water only from authorized railway stalls and to report any irregularities to the railway authorities.

The ongoing drive will continue in the coming weeks to deter unauthorized vendors and curb the unauthorized sale of drinking water, reinforcing the railway’s dedication to passenger welfare and hygiene.
