Nagpur : Following recommendation by the Deputy Chief Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Executive Committee of Nagpur District Planning Committee (DPC) has been formed. The State BJP President and MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, MLC Pravin Datke, former NMC Standing Committee Chairman Vijay Zalke and others have been appointed as nominated members, according to a report in local media.As per provision in Section 11 of the Maharashtra District Planning Committees (Constitution and Functions) Act, 1998, there is a provision of forming an executive committee led by the President to assist the District Planning Committee. As per this provision, the Guardian Minister has formed this executive committee, the report said.The Committee has Divisional Commissioner, District Collector, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, District Planning Officer and others as members.
Start-up schemes to get fund from District Planning Committee:
To promote innovation along with skill, employment and entrepreneurship at local level, Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Maharashtra Government has included various innovative and start-up schemes in the Innovative Scheme of District Annual Plan. The Government of Maharashtra on Tuesday released a Government Resolution (GR) in which it mentioned about 12 different schemes in the Annual Plan.
The National Skill Development Mission, Start-up India and Make In India mission of the Central Government have been developed to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities and to encourage local industries. Further, to achieve the vision of ‘Skilled India’, the National Skill Development Mission would not only consolidate and co-ordinate skilling efforts, but also expedite decision making across sectors to achieve skilling at scale with speed and standards.
Working on the same line, Maharashtra Government has decided to provide a local platform to Start-ups by including Start-up schemes in the District Annual Plan. After this State’s decision, the Startups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will get a chance to promote their business and ideas at local level and the fund will be provided by the District Planning Committee (DPC).
Various campaigns like Start-up India, Hackathons, Grand Challenge etc that are conducted by registered societies will be included in the scheme and the societies will get funds from the DPC. Similarly, new entrepreneurs, start-ups, self-help groups, students, teachers, trainers etc. are also included and will get monetary help to start their earning sources or business locally. Organisations will get support from DPC to conduct various educational, training events, workshops, and prize distribution functions.
People, who want to start agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries business, will get support under the scheme. Those who want to establish Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cells, businesses for waste management, renewable energy, disaster management will also be included in the initiative. Along with this, persons who want to start Model Career Centres, Career Guidance and Counselling Centres etc will be supported by DPC. To avail these schemes or to get help from DPC, interested persons or Start-ups can approach District Collector.
